Hello! My name is Alice and I’m the dyer behind Redwood Yarn.

My fiber journey started all the way back when I was in middle school. Back then in my country, all girls supposed to learn cooking, knitting, sewing, and embroidery. Although many of my friends dislike the slow paced crafts, I instantly fall in love with all. My mom was an avid knitter. I wore a beautiful sweaters over the years growing up as long as I remember. She kept her knitting journal always measuring my body before she starts the project. I remember how many time I had to try on anticipating the FO! I always play with her stick of needles before I even started knitting myself. But life took me into a long break until I went back to my knitting as an adult. I knit everything nowadays but one of the most fun and comfort knitting is making hand knit socks. When I found out there were so much choice of sock yarns in 2014, I made hundreds of pairs of socks. Now I think it is time for me to start a new journey by dyeing my own sock yarns. 

I love knitting so much. It is my passion and purpose of my life. I wish to create a beautiful yarns that inspire you, too!

I live in the North bay region of San Francisco Bay area where redwood trees are very common. I have two giant redwood trees on my backyard :)
